Abstract

An issue addressing gaming during pandemic times is especially relevant for Kinephanos to get back to a standard publication rhythm. The covid-19 pandemic has of course delayed a lot of research and loaded our administrative and teaching workflow while still giving us an overload of personal mental charge.

Author Biography

Simon Dor, Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue

Simon Dor is Associate Professor in game and media studies at Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT). He teaches game design and game studies in the video game development program in Montreal. He published both in English and French in Game Studies, Kinephanos, and Sciences du jeu. His work focuses on strategy and management games, whether it is from a gameplay or fictional perspective, with a competitive or narrative lens, or using a cognitive, philosophical, or historical approach. His teaching and research also led him to work on e-sports, ethics, and game economy design.
